Waning Light

Something is awry

In the night sky

A once glimmering star

Now waning. Why?

Mind was open in wonder

Heart full and strong

Now dull and struggling to

Receive the offering

Eyes lack luster

Leaden feet and hands

Straining under the weight to

Move from now to now

Twisted that detestable it is

To be free and explore

Creativity sapped when

Separated from source

Curse the sunrise and

Feeding vampires

Bled dry and stumbling

A daily routine

No more gifts for their gain

Those who conquer and hoard

Waxing again by feeding the one

Who we truly are
